When Laura Wienroither talks about the family atmosphere in the Austrian women’s national soccer team, the Franconian gets enthusiastic. “It’s like coming home, the climate is great, I would leave my shirt off on the pitch”stressed the legionnaire of WFC Arsenal, with whom the 24-year-old full-back is surfing the wave of success.
The “Gunners” have won the English League Cup, still have title chances in the Super League and reached the semi-finals in the Champions League by beating FC Bayern. But that’s not the only thing that inspires, the growing scenery on the island also spurs on Wienroither. 47,367 fans came to the fashionable Emirates Stadium against Tottenham, 46,881 against Chelsea and more than 21,000 against Bayern.
EURO 2022 in England, with the Three Lionesses winning the title at Wembley Stadium, gave the scene a huge boost. This is entirely in the spirit of Wienroither. “The importance of football is crass, many games are broadcast live, the number of spectators is increasing dramatically. You can see the importance of it. Something happens all the time, they push women’s football, which gets the respect it deserves”the London-by-choice reported: “The FA (the English association, note) really did a very good job.”
One-two with Schnaderbeck
Also the so-called “finalissima”, the first edition of the meeting between the European champions (England) and the South American champions (Brazil), captivated the crowds. Britain prevailed 4-2 on penalties in front of no fewer than 83,000 spectators at Wembley on Thursday. After regulation time it was 1:1.
It’s clear that Wienroither feels in good hands in the motherland of football. This is also due to the fact that she has recently been advised at management level by her former ÖFB team captain Viktoria Schnaderbeck, who ended her career last year. The 32-year-old from Graz runs the sports marketing agency “PRO SPECTIVE” founded. “Specifically, there are two areas at stake: the development and marketing of the personality brand and tailor-made services that go beyond the classic sponsor and testimonial support”explained Schnaderbeck.
“Willing to get the best out of it”
“I appreciate the Viki as a person. If she does something, she stands behind it with 100% heart. I saw that we have a big platform. The whole package fits”Wienroither justified her yes word “PRO SPECTIVE”.
Despite being only 24 years old, the Upper Austrian is well on her way to becoming a leader: “ÖFB team boss Irene Fuhrmann gave me the opportunity to grow as a player. My development is far from over. We are willing to get the best out of it.”
