UEFA created a “Football Council” that will include 20 figures, including coaches Zinedine Zidane, José Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti, in order to formulate proposals on the evolution of the game, the organization reported today.

The Council will be called the UEFA Football Board and was validated by the UEFA executive committee last Tuesday in Lisbon.

According to what was announced, their first meeting will be on April 24 in the Swiss city of Nyon, the entity’s headquarters, according to the AFP news agency.
The council will be led by the Croatian Zvonimir Boban, director of professional football at UEFA and who as a footballer won the Italian Serie A four times with Milan, and with the Italian Roberto Rosetti, in charge of the referees, as deputy and who has as better antecedents having directed in the Silent Cups of Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010.
In addition to Boban, the French Zidane, the Portuguese Mourinho and the Italian Ancelotti, the structure will have other figures such as the Dutch Ronald Koeman, the Danish Michael Laudrup, the Czech Petr Cech, the Germans Jürgen Klinsmann, Rudi Völler and Philipp Lahm, the Lusitanian Luis Figo, the Italians Paolo Maldini and Fabio Capello and the Englishman Gareth Southgate.
The group will have to analyze the developments of a regulatory order and on the organization of football, contributing ideas that could be transformed into “projects of law”.
