Toluca defeated Puebla and settled in second place in the Mexican League

Toluca achieved a valuable victory as a visitor to Puebla by 2-1 and settled in second place in the Clausura tournament of the first division of Mexican soccer, which with three dates to go is led by Monterrey, in the outgoing match of the two that started last night on the 14th.

The match was played at the Cuauhtémoc stadium, in the city of Puebla, and the winner’s goals were scored by Edgar López Rodríguez and Brazilian goalkeeper Tiago Volpi, from a penalty kick, while Uruguayan Facundo Martiarena scored for the locals.

With the victory, Toluca reached 28 points, six less than the leader Monterrey with nine left to play.

In Puebla two ex-Independiente played, the Argentine Federico Mancuello and the Uruguayan Gastón Silva.

In the other match of the date there was also a visiting victory, in this case Querétaro over Tijuana 2-1,

Querétaro, led by Argentine Mauro Gerk, won with goals from Colombian José Zuñiga and Mexican Ángel Sepúlveda, while Chilean Joaquín Montecinos discounted for Tijuana.

In Querétaro, Argentines Miguel Ángel Barbieri and Manuel Duarte started, while their compatriot Jonathan Torres entered in the second half.

Tijuana, for its part, had the Argentines Lisandro López, Federico Lértora, Alexis Canelo, Braian Romero and Fernando Valenzuela.
