David Garzón, president of Huracán, discredited the behavior of the player Lucas Merolla and the people who manage him by assuring that “the club does not have to beg for anything” in relation to a possible transfer in which it does not receive the intended money.
The 28-year-old defender has been separated from the squad led by DT Diego Dabove since last February, training ‘off-time’ with the rest of his teammates, having not renewed his contract extension.
“The club doesn’t have to beg for anything. Sometimes they tell me to grab ‘something that is better than nothing’ so that the player doesn’t leave with the pass in his possession in June. But the club needs a lot of money. It hurts us when they want to stick their finger in our asses. They want to take a player out of us for two pesos,” the leader unleashed on the party program ‘I am a burner’.
Garzón clarified that the soccer player, at the time wanted by Boca Juniors and by a Latvian soccer institution, had some “last talks” with the entity’s secretary, Nicolás Arias.
“It hurts us to lose a player like Lucas (Merolla) and an income for the club. But there are times when we have to make Huracán respect, that’s what we are for,” he said.
“The numbers that they offered us for him were not consistent with that. We feel that he did not collaborate so that he is sold in the corresponding numbers,” the president expanded.
“We are here to make Huracán respect. There will be people who will not like it. But we made that decision and the player (Merolla) promised something that he did not fulfill.
