Table leader St. Pölten (45 points) had beaten First Vienna the day before with a 3-1 win, BW Linz (44) and GAK (43) stayed behind after 22 rounds.
In Linz, Ronivaldo turned Admira’s early lead through Lukas Malicsek (10′), who headed in after a corner. The Brazilian’s opening goal was particularly noteworthy as the 34-year-old has now scored five goals in his last three games and has 12 league goals under his belt this season. In the second half, Admira goalie Christoph Haas kept the Lower Austrians in the game with some good saves. But when Fally Mayulu shot into the short Kreuzeck (78th) to decide, he had no chance.
In Graz, Lenn Jastremski had the Styrians cheering after just two minutes. David Bumberger equalized from a tight angle (12′), but it only lasted a few seconds. Thomas Schiestl (13th) and again Jastremski (53rd) ensured a comfortable lead for GAK. Michael Lageder made the game exciting again after an hour. The “Red Devils” could be happy about the fifth win in a row, next Friday the leader St. Pölten is in Graz.
