First he gave Manchester United a two-goal lead against Sevilla FC, but in the end the “Red Devils” carelessly gave up the win – 2-2.

“We have to kill the game, we have to score the third goal,” said the disappointed 29-year-old. Two late own goals prevented a better starting position for Thursday’s second leg. “Of course it’s a bit more difficult that way, but we’ll go there to progress,” said Sabitzer, who scored his second brace in his 73rd European Cup game. He had previously scored twice in Leipzig’s 3-0 win over Tottenham in the Champions League in March 2020.

Coach Erik ten Hag praised the ÖFB team player not only because of the goals. The Dutchman counts on the whereabouts of the Bayern loan with “good chances”. “I’m enjoying being here,” said Sabitzer. “I will continue until the end of May, beginning of June, then we will see.”
