Juventus drew against Sporting Lisboa and qualified for the Semifinal

Sporting could not at home with Juventus and they drew 1-1 at the José Alvalade XXI stadium, for the quarterfinals of the 2022-2023 Europa League tournament.

With a goal from Adrien Rabiot, they began by winning the visit at the start of the first half, however, 19 minutes into that stage, Marcus Edwards, from a penalty, managed to equalize for the locals.

Sporting Lisboa had a chance to score that was almost equal, but Francisco Trincão’s shot ended up hitting the post.

Marcus Edwards had a great performance. The Sporting Lisboa attacker shone by scoring 1 goal and kicking 3 times.

Danilo also stood out. The Juventus defender was important for rejecting 2 dangerous balls.

The game was fought, but there were more offenses than the creation of fair play. There were several cautioned: Manuel Ugarte, Federico Gatti, Paul Pogba and Marcus Edwards.

Sporting coach Ruben Marques Amorim presented a 3-4-3 tactical arrangement with Antonio Adán in goal; Ousmane Diomande, Sebastián Coates and Gonçalo Inácio on the defensive line; Ricardo Esgaio, Manuel Ugarte, Hidemasa Morita and Nuno Santos in the middle; and Pedro Gonçalves, Marcus Edwards and Francisco Trincão in attack.

For their part, Massimiliano Allegri’s team came out with a 3-5-2 tactical arrangement with Wojciech Szczesny under the three sticks; Danilo, Bremer and Alex Sandro in defense; Juan Cuadrado, Manuel Locatelli, Adrien Rabiot, Fabio Miretti and Federico Chiesa in midfield; and Ángel Di María and Dusan Vlahovic up front.

François Letexier was the referee chosen for the match at the José Alvalade XXI stadium.

Sporting said goodbye to the 2022-2023 Europa League by giving up a tie and Juventus is still in the race in the tournament.
