Türkgücü is further arming itself for the coming third division season. Now, with Mergim Mavraj, a veteran from Fürth is moving to Munich.
Third division team Türkgücü Munich has signed central defender Mergim Mavraj from Bundesliga promoted SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The club officially announced this on Friday.
The 35-year-old, whose contract with the Franks was not renewed, comes free of charge. The thirteenth of the table of the past third division season did not provide any information about the contract period.
“Mergim is a very experienced and clear-cut player whose qualities will help us further. He has good positional play, is strong at the head and has a good opening. He is also a strong personality and will therefore play an important role in our team,” became Roman Plesche, sporting director, quoted in the official announcement.
158 Bundesliga games: veteran Mavraj the 16th newcomer
Mavraj comes with the experience of 158 Bundesliga games for VfL Bochum, Fürth, 1. FC Köln and Hamburger SV as well as 140 second division games.
The 50-time Albanian national player played 19 competitive games (one assist) for Fürth last season.
