The LASK footballers have not needed too much support from above in the past few weeks. The 4-0 win against Austria Klagenfurt also went without an additional “Our Father”. From now on, you can pray in the freshly consecrated “LASK chapel” with a view of the cabin aisle, where the players are immediately before stepping onto the stadium lawn.
The Linz diocesan bishop Manfred Scheuer performed the blessing in the presence of Governor Thomas Stelzer, LASK President Siegmund Gruber and Secretary General Gernot Fellinger. Numerous dates for weddings and baptisms have already been booked.

The premiere will soon be the christening of one-year-old Enzo. Of course, that also pleases dad, Karl Aspöck: “I was in the stadium for the first time in 1979, was always a big LASK fan, and I’m happy to be able to make a contribution as a sponsor now,” says the Peuerbacher, whose company lighting systems manufactured for vehicles.
“Our Enzo is always with us in the stadium. That’s why it’s of course a very special pleasure that his christening is taking place in the Raiffeisen Arena, and that it’s also the premiere.”
Lustenau and Schalke 04
The first consecrated chapel in an Austrian stadium was opened in Lustenau in 2007. Weddings and christenings are also possible in the SK Rapid arena. In Germany, FC Schalke 04 was a pioneer when it came to building a new stadium in 2001. Berlin and Frankfurt quickly followed suit.
