“I’m currently in talks with the German Ice Hockey Federation. There are a few things to be clarified. We’ll see,” said Draisaitl in a media briefing in Edmonton.
Sum insured is not an issue
The Oilers were defeated by the Vegas Golden Knights. Since then, the DEB has been trying to get Draisaitl to participate in the World Cup. According to sports director Christian Künast, the sum insured for the best German player is not an issue.
After three defeats at the start of the World Cup, the national team is under pressure to reach the quarter-finals. Next opponent is Denmark. Draisaitl could arrive in Tampere on Thursday at the earliest.
