The 29-year-old is sensationally in second place in the regional football league with the black and white second representation and has already helped one or the other talent to their Bundesliga debut this season. 59 points after 26 games, an average of around 2.3 points and with 67 goals the most prolific team in the Central Regional League: the LASK Amateure Oberösterreich season record so far is impressive.
Head coach Patrick Enengl is largely responsible for the successful debut season of the black and white second team: “It’s a lot of fun working with the boys. They keep up extremely well, are always open to new things in training and show top performances week after week. The development is constantly upwards, both individually and in terms of the team – I am very happy about that.”
This development did not go unnoticed by those responsible at LASK and so the black and whites are now extending the long-term with Patrick Enengl, who was appointed as an amateur trainer a good year ago as the former AKA U18 trainer: “During his time as AKA trainer Under 18 we noticed Patrick’s great potential. So we gave him the chance to establish himself as an amateur coach in adult football. In the last year he has proven that he is an absolute expert in the field of player development – he was able to help Luca Wimhofer and Gabriel Zirngast to their Bundesliga debuts. In addition, his team shows attractive football and is in second place,” explains Managing Director Sport Radovan Vujanovic.
Ralf Muhr, Technical Director, who was in charge of building up LASK Amateure OÖ, takes the same line: “The development of young self-made players is very important to us, we want to offer them the best possible platform for the leap into professional football. I am very pleased that we will continue to walk this path with Patrick. The good performances of the LASK amateurs Upper Austria speak for themselves – the long-term extension is now the logical and well-deserved consequence.
The coach, who has been confirmed in office, feels visibly at ease with the athletes: “The appreciation I feel from the whole club, including and especially from the technical director, the sports director and our president, means a lot to me. I am now in my seventh year at LASK. The club has become very dear to me during this time and I consider it a great honor to be able to work for such a big club.” An exciting season finish awaits Enengl and his team: four rounds before the end, the amateurs are still mixing in the Promotion race with, the gap to leader Leoben is four points.
