Bayern’s midfield star Joshua Kimmich said last weekend that he was not vaccinated against the corona virus and thus triggered a heated debate. Football icon Uwe Seeler has a clear opinion on this.
Germany’s football icon Uwe Seeler cannot understand why a national player like Joshua Kimmich cannot be vaccinated against the virus in the middle of the corona pandemic. “Kimmich is a great player and a bright head. But I find his attitude towards vaccination very strange,” said the honorary captain of the DFB team, who will be 85 years old on November 5th, in an interview with the German press agency.
Seeler thinks Kimmich’s attitude is selfish
A week ago on Saturday, Kimmich admitted that he had not yet been vaccinated against Covid-19, thus triggering an emotional and controversial debate. The 26-year-old midfielder of FC Bayern Munich said he had “a few personal concerns, especially when it comes to the lack of long-term studies.” He did not rule out a later vaccination.
Seeler thinks that is selfish. “He has to think about the others he can infect,” said the former Hamburger SV goalscorer and former German national player about Kimmich. “If all players get vaccinated, then everyone should really do it. And he’ll just about tolerate two pikes.” The football idol said his opinion was clear: “If vaccination is the only thing that helps in the pandemic, then it should be done too.”
