Dietmar Hamann played for FC Bayern. In the Bundesliga title fight, however, the TV expert relies on the competition.
Ex-national player Dietmar Hamann relies on Borussia Dortmund in the thrilling Bundesliga title fight.
“If BVB wins its last two games, they will be German champions. I’m convinced of that,” wrote the 49-year-old in his column for Sky TV: “I see BVB as champions.”
Hamann is impressed by the nerves of steel in second place. “Bayern have seen how sovereignly Dortmund have followed suit despite the pressure in the last two weeks and after a few minutes they had already won the games with three goals,” wrote Hamann: “That means something to FC Bayern.” Two games before the end of the season, Bayern lead the table with a one-point lead over BVB.
Pressure on cloth
If Munich loses the championship and thus the last chance for the title, “Tuchel is also at the forefront of the problem analysis,” said Hamann about Thomas Tuchel, who has been Bayern coach since the end of March: “He had a good two months time, is miserable from two Eliminated in the quarter-finals of the cup competitions and should at least win this one very important title for the club.”
A defeat in the title race could also mean something positive for the record champions, said the former Bayern professional. “Because then there is nothing to talk about and really every stone is turned over. In the end, something really good usually comes out of it.”
