Franck Ribery shoots against former club Fiorentina: “Was not respected”

Franck Ribery has sharply criticized the way in which the separation from his club Fiorentina came about. He wants to continue his career.

Former Bayern star Franck Ribery regrets his departure from Fiorentina and has criticized the way they split up. “Nobody has called me for three or four weeks, I had the impression that I was not respected. I found that these two years in which I gave everything were not sufficiently appreciated,” said Ribery at Tuscany TV.

Florence said goodbye to the 38-year-old on social media. “Farewell to Fiorentina was not easy. I am healthy and have really given everything. That is in my mentality,” said an emotionally visibly touched Ribery. “I would really have liked to stay in Florence. I have never criticized the club and have fond memories,” he said. Florence was a “great experience”.

Ribery wants to continue his career in Italy

The Frenchman played 51 competitive games for the club from Tuscany in two years and was involved in 15 goals. From 2007 to 2019, Ribery helped shape an era at FC Bayern and won the German championship nine times, the DFB Cup six times and the Champions League in 2013 with the Munich team. With his achievements and his personality, Ribery captured the hearts of fans.

Despite his departure from Florence and his now advanced age, the offensive player wants to continue his career. “I would like to stay in Italy and in this league,” said Ribery. Most recently he was linked with a return to Olympique Marseille, but OM President Pablo Longoria denied these rumors. “I have nothing but respect for his career but we already have four players in his position,” he said.
