In the Bombonera the tribute had a special atmosphere: on the one hand Boca, a club of which Diego is one of its greatest idols (and in which he had a box from where he usually expressed his blue and gold love); on the other, Gimnasia, a team of which the idol was technical director at the time of his death, on November 25 of last year, and with whose colors he had his last public appearances.
The emotions started early: Diego’s flags from all the stands, his waiting box, a gigantograph with his face covering the central circle, the permanent memory of “D10S”. And they continued in the minutes before the start of the meeting.

The two teams took to the field of play wearing white shirts also with the face of “10”. And the captain of Boca, Carlos Izquierdoz, along with the Colombian Frank Fabra, gave a t-shirt and a memorial plaque to Dalma Maradona, the star’s eldest daughter, who used to accompany him to the games.
Later, and as it was reproduced in all the weekend football matches, the greatest emotion came at minute 10.
Referee Ariel Penel stopped the actions, in The giant screen followed images of Maradona in his different stages as a Boca Juniors player (and also as a fan) and the fans, many of them wearing a Diego mask with the yellow streak that he wore in 1995, when he returned to the institution, joined in a song that is already legend: Maradóoooo, Maradóooooo.
“At 10 we paid tribute to 10,” the masks recalled. “Barcelona wanted it, River Plei wanted it,” the fans sang.

Dalma, in the family box facing Iberlucea street, hung a T-shirt demanding “Justice” for her father, within the framework of the judicial case in which the possible responsibilities of his death are being investigated; while a bunch of blue and yellow balloons raised towards the unforgettable starry night, a t-shirt with the idolized surname.
Then the game continued and there was a first goal. Justice, but poetic: he did it, for the “Lobo”, the “Flea” Luis Miguel Rodríguez, whom the Ten brought to the National Team during his time as coach and, perhaps, the most Maradonian player tonight on the field.
