With 32.250 points, the native of Russia was well ahead of Ewa Brezaliewa from Bulgaria (31.600) and her compatriot Stiliana Nikolowa (31.550). At the 2022 European Championships in Tel Aviv, Varfolomeev had won bronze with both clubs and ball.
Last year in Sofia, Varfolomeev ensured the greatest success for years for the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) in rhythmic gymnastics with World Cup gold with clubs. In Baku, she was unable to repeat that with clubs in the final and finished fifth, as she did in the final with the ball. In qualifying with clubs, Varfolomeev was still the best. Previously, the 16-year-old had just missed out on a medal in fourth place in the all-around.
