Argentine guard Carlos “Lancha” Delfino, currently in Italian basketball, said today that he continues to have fun on the “court.”
Delfino, at 40 years old and after many injuries, is an important piece in Bologna in Italy. “I’m still having fun on the court, but you get bigger and it costs more and more,” he said in a note with Básquet Plus TV.
“I feel good physically, I have the chance to continue playing, I have a team in which I can feel good, I can feel important and I am in shape to be competitive. But it is also knowing what the National Team needs, I can help , that the National Team takes me into account or not”, Delfino argued with a view to the near future and with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on the horizon.
Argentina did not qualify for the 2023 World Cup and has not yet secured a ticket to the Olympic Games, to the point that it will have to go through an arduous path in the previous one to try to be part of the world sports party.
The former NBA basketball player and member of the Golden Generation reflected on the achievement obtained in Athens 2004 and maintained that “value is given to it over time.” The gold medal won with the team that included Emanuel Ginóbili, Luis Scola and Fabricio Oberto, among others, was “impressive” for the man from Santa Fe.
“The perfect storm occurred in Athens, sometimes many things come together for titles, even results that are not very logical,” Delfino concluded.
