Roland Garros: the Argentine Tirant advances in his absolute Grand Slam debut

The Argentine tennis player Thiago Tirante, absolute debutant in Grand Slam tournamentsadvanced this Monday to the second round of Roland Garros with a meritorious triumph about the Dutchman Botic Van De Zandschulptwenty-fifth favorite over the brick dust from Paris.

The 22-year-old player from La Plata, from the previous classification, won 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4 after 3 hours, 5 minutes on field number 9.

The European “giant”, of 1.91 meters tallhad a black day with his service: 12 double faults and 13 break opportunities for the Argentine, who took 7 of them.

Tirant will meet in the second round with the winner from the cross between the Chinese Zhizhen Zhang and the Serbian Dusan Lajovic.

Little Schwartzman struck first

Prior to the debut of Tirante, another of the Argentines in the Parisian Open, diego schwartzman got over a bad start and achieved the ticket to the second round of Roland Garros, after reversing his match against the Spanish Bernabé Zapata Mirallesto whom finally won 1-6, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-0 and 6-4 in three hours and 37 minutes.

The “little” emitted a cry of relief to heaven when secured his sixth victory in 20 presentations for the current seasonin which he experienced a sharp drop in the ATP rankings.

“I come from many weeks of frustration, it is a bad moment for me, but this victory is very tasty due to the constant individual struggle to maintain attitude and concentration”, shared the Argentine, number 95 in the world ranking.
