Boca statement: Sebastián Villa will not play until there is a final ruling

Mouth Juniors confirmed tonight that they will not have the Colombian striker sebastian villa “until the final judicial pronouncement”after the sentence of two years and one month in suspended prison that he received in the first instance in a case for gender violence.

The club “xeneize” adopted the decision “unanimously” in its Board of Directors, meeting this Friday urgently, after the sentence of the Correctional Judge 2 of Lomas de Zamora, Claudia Dávalos.

Villa, 27, was sentenced to two years and one month in prison for having used gender violence against his ex-partner Daniela Cortés in April 2020 in a house in a private neighborhood in the Buenos Aires town of Canning.

Boca’s statement published tonight on its social networks expresses the following:

“On the day of the date and before the event that is public knowledge, the Board of Directors of the CABJ met urgently, unanimously adopting the decision that is communicated below.

Opportunely, the club made public its position to submit the matter to the Justice in protection of the corresponding constitutional guarantees and awaiting the issuance of the respective pronouncements.

Consequently, in this instance, in view of the non-firm conviction handed down regarding the entity’s player, Sebastián Villa, the CABJ communicates that, as of this date, the named will not participate in the calls for the competitions that the player must face. the Club’s first professional men’s soccer team until the final judicial ruling is issued and without prejudice to the measures adopted as a result, which will be communicated in a timely manner if necessary”.
