Black Wings are reaching the limit of their capacity with season ticket campaigns

At the day of the open cabin door last Friday, fans symbolically signed the Black Wings “dress”. Julian Pusnik, Thomas Höneckl and Andreas Kristler are happy about the encouragement.

For the first time in the history of the Steinbach Black Wings, the people of Linz are honoring the names of the first 350 season ticket holders on their home kits for the new season. All fans who want to find their name on the jerseys are advised to order a season ticket as soon as possible. The place on the dresses for the new season is slowly but surely coming to an end.

300 season tickets were distributed to fans on the first weekend after the start of sales. More than 250 supporters visited the Black Wings dressing room last Friday (see image gallery and article below). “The response is great and we are of course happy about that. It confirms the path we have taken,” says President Peter Nader. The President answered in the affirmative to the frequently asked question as to whether online purchases of season tickets would also be taken into account for the home shirts. The campaign will definitely end on July 1st, because that is when the jerseys have to be printed.

From a sporting point of view, they are currently working on the commitment of a first-line center. In addition to Michael Haga, with whom negotiations are still ongoing, there is another candidate. Who ultimately wins the race is still open. As reported, the departure of Alps goalie Leon Sommer (Trinity Western College, Canada) and Alexander Lahoda is already fixed.

League General Assembly begins countdown

While the sale of season tickets got off to a great start from Linz’s point of view, the league held an ordinary general assembly on Wednesday. Exactly 100 days before the start of the season on September 15, for example, the Pioneers Vorarlberg were accepted as a full member of the league after their debut season. However, there will be no newcomers in the win2day ICE Hockey League. President Peter Nader and spokesman Michael Geltner were there for the Black Wings.

League President Jochen Pildner-Steinburg: “During the course of the General Assembly, there were very constructive discussions in which important points were set for the future. All participants agreed that the win2day ICE Hockey League has even more potential. This should be retrieved with an even better positioning. We will soon be able to present the first measures to make the league more attractive. We will make the best possible use of the next 100 days until the start of the season and want to take the momentum from the playoffs into the new season.”

The schedule for the new season should be presented in early July. The mode basically remains the same. After four games against each team (48 rounds), the pre-playoffs (best-of-3) follow, in which the team in seventh place has the pick and home right against the ninth- or tenth-placed team. The team in eighth place plays against the remaining team. This is followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, each in a best-of-7 series.
