19 field players and goalkeepers Kevin Trapp and Bernd Leno were in action again on Friday morning at the practice session on the Frankfurt DFB campus. The injured Timo Werner and Benjamin Henrichs from Leipzig were again absent three days before the benefit game against Ukraine in Bremen.
Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen and defender Thilo Kehrer were expected to be latecomers to the DFB quarters on Friday. They should train with the DFB team for the first time on Saturday. In the practice sessions, Flick has the three-man game system rehearsed, which he would like to try out in the European Championship tests on Monday (6 p.m. / ZDF) against Ukraine and in the other games against Poland and Colombia. “The flexibility in the game systems can do us good,” commented Lukas Klostermann from Leipzig.
