The Argentine tennis player Lourdes Carlé was eliminated from the WTA 125 of La Bisbal D’Emporda, in Girona, in the north of Spain, after losing today in the semifinals with the Dutch Arantxa Rus by 6-1, 4-6 and 6-3.

Carlé, born in the Buenos Aires city of Daireaux and ranked 151 in the WTA world ranking, lost to the Dutch Rus (114) in a close match that lasted two hours and 25 minutes.

The Dutch will play the final this Sunday against the Hungarian Panna Udvardy (97), who won the other semifinal against the Spanish Rebeka Masarova (71) 6-4, 6-4.
The WTA 125 of La Bisbal D’Emporda takes place on clay courts and will distribute a total of 115,000 euros in prizes.
