The Ducati rider, who had already won the sprint race the day before, triumphed in Tuscany ahead of his brand colleagues Jorge Martin (ESP) and Johann Zarco (FRA) and thus clinched his third win of the season. In the general standings, Bagnaia now leads 21 points ahead of his closest pursuer Marco Bezzecchi, who finished eighth.
The South African KTM rider Brad Binder classified as the best non-Ducati rider in fifth place. In the constructors’ ranking, the Upper Austrian motorcycle manufacturer is in second place far behind Ducati.
For the six-time world champion Marc Marquez (Honda), the race started on the front row, but ended with a crash on the sixth lap. His brother Alex (Ducati) also slipped into the gravel trap with third place in mind.
