The Argentine tennis player Nadia Podoroska agreed today to the semifinals of the women’s tournament of the WTA125 in Spain, which is held in the city of Valencia, by defeating the Swedish Mirjam Bjorklund in three sets.
The 26-year-old player from Rosario, located in position 94 of the WTA ranking, beat Bjorklund (192), with partials of 6-7, 6-3 and 6-4, after three hours and 15 minutes of intense fight.
Podoroska will meet tomorrow in one of the semifinals of the Valencian tournament (115 thousand euros in prizes) with the Egyptian Mayar Sherif, top favorite.
The African tennis player, ranked 40th in the international ranking, easily defeated the American Ann Li (204), 6-1, 6-2.
The other semi will be animated by the Spanish Marina Bassols Ribera (130) and the German Tamara Korpatsch (124).
