EM 2021: press reviews on Germany’s victory over Portugal

After the opening defeat there was a lot of criticism, now the German national team is celebrated for the game against Portugal. The international press comments on the 4-2 victory.

Germany is back in the tournament at the European Football Championship: After beating Portugal 4-2, the DFB-Elf have good chances of making it to the round of 16 again. Not only at home did the team make amends for the opening defeat against France. International media also express their appreciation for the Germans’ appearance.

Robin Gosens made a special impression – in almost every newspaper you can read hymns of praise for the left-back, who was the outstanding man of the evening with two assists and one goal. Coach Joachim Löw, recently not without controversy, is attested to having made correct decisions after the victory. The international press agrees: The German national team can be expected again in this form.
