The Extraordinary Assembly of the AFA that took place this afternoon at the entity’s property in Ezeiza, resolved the reduction from three to two relegations for this season in the Professional League (LPF), one by average and another by the annual table, when 21 dates of the first championship of the year have already been played, it was officially reported.
Until today, three relegations were planned, two by averages -it will become one- and the rest by annual table, which will maintain the number of teams that will lose the category, in a tournament that will continue with the participation of 28 teams in the highest category.
The modification was approved unanimously by the 45 assembly members who attended the meeting in Ezeiza, since of the 46 possible only the representative of Talleres de Córdoba was missing.
This change occurred, according to reports, in favor of the pressure exerted especially by three large clubs such as Independiente, Vélez Sarsfield and Huracán, which today are committed by annual table and wanted the two relegations to be by average.

However, the three clubs agreed to the reduction of one drop, one by average and another by the annual table.
The Assembly also approved that in the event that the last in the annual table is the last of the averages, as is the case at this time with Arsenal de Sarandí, the next drop will be occupied by the one that occupies the penultimate place in the sum of accumulated points in the season.
At this time, if the competition ends taking into account the accumulated points, Arsenal would be relegated on average, while Vélez, Huracán and Banfield would have to tie a tie to determine which team would go down to the First National, for occupying the penultimate positions in the annual table.
