SKN St. Pölten is gearing up for the coming second division season: the Lower Austrians announce Marcel Ritzmaier’s commitment on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old has signed a contract with the Wolves until 2025 plus an option for another one. Most recently, the midfielder was engaged to Sandhausen, who had been relegated to the second division.
“With Marcel, we’re getting real quality in the offensive area, you just have to look at his CV,” says sports director Tino Wawra, who came to the St. Pölten team from Blau-Weiss Linz this summer. “In the first talks, I immediately noticed that he fits in here very well. Both in terms of sport and character. We’ll also get even better with him when it comes to standards and degrees from afar,” the Mühlviertler continued.
Ritzmaier played in the Netherlands, at FC Barnsley and in Austria’s Bundesliga, among others.
