SV Guntamatic Ried did not exercise the option to extend Seifedin Chabbi’s expiring contract in the spring – still with the prospect that Chabbi could stay anyway. After the Bundesliga relegation, that was no longer an issue. The striker, who scored 37 goals and prepared eleven others in 92 competitive games for the Innviertler, moved to Vaduz. The 30-year-old signed until the summer of 2025.

The Liechtenstein club currently plays in the second Swiss league. As the principality’s long-term cup winner, Vaduz is nevertheless a regular guest in the European Cup. The first leg against Njoman Hrodna from Belarus in the first qualifying round of the Europa Conference League already takes place on July 13, and the second leg in the Rheinpark Stadium a week later.

Chabbi is now close by changing his homeland. “With Seifedin we are signing an experienced player who has proven his goalscoring qualities at a high level in recent years,” said Vaduz sports director Franz Burgmeier. “He grew up in Vorarlberg and so fits into our regional orientation.”
