Head coach Matej Hocevar will continue to rely on goalie Benedikt Oschgan and striker Mathias Haiböck in the coming season. The Steel Wings recently announced this. Like Patrick Söllinger from the Black Wings, the latter was able to successfully pass the Matura exam and after six points in 36 games in the past season will go back to the Steel Wings in pursuit of goals.
17-year-old Benedikt Oschgan is likely to inherit the top spot in the Alps Hockey League from Leon Sommer, who is known to be moving to a Canadian university. In addition to Fabio Rohm, who ended his professional career after 124 games in Steel Wings dress and at the age of just 24, Sommer is the only confirmed departure of Linz to date.
You can hear behind closed doors that agreements have already been reached with other players. For example, Marc-Andre Dorion should play out his routine in defense again. And the name of a young KAC defender is floating around as a loan rumor. A number of names will surely follow before the start of the Alps Hockey League on September 16th.
