Record Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and world number one Carlos Alcaraz are in the Wimbledon final.
After the Serbian Djokovic had clearly beaten the Italian Jannik Sinner 6: 3, 6: 4, 7: 6 (7: 4) in the first semi-final of the classic lawn, the Spaniard Alcaraz followed shortly afterwards. The 20-year-old prevailed surprisingly clearly in his semifinals against the Russian Daniil Medvedev 6: 3, 6: 3, 6: 3 and thus reached his second Grand Slam final.
For Djokovic, on the other hand, it is the 35th final in one of the four most important tournaments. No player before him has been in a Grand Slam final so often. The 36-year-old Serb will fight for his ninth title in Wimbledon on Sunday (3 p.m. CEST / Sky). He would draw level with Roger Federer from Switzerland, who retired last year.
