Wimbledon: Djokovic’s challenge to Alcaraz: “I’m not done yet”

The dream final in Wimbledon is coming up. Carlos Alcaraz challenges Novak Djokovic. And the superstar from Serbia is hot for the duel.

Before the dream final in Wimbledon, defending champion Novak Djokovic sent a challenge to his challenger Carlos Alcaraz. “I’m not done here yet,” said the record Grand Slam champion from Serbia with a view to the final (3 p.m. CEST / Sky). “For me, the job isn’t over until I lift the trophy,” said Djokovic.

The 36-year-old has won 34 games in a row at Wimbledon, winning the last four editions at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. But he is still far from full. “Nothing has changed in my approach. I really want to win the title,” said Djokovic.

Djokovic: “I love this sport”

The fact that he won his 23rd Grand Slam tournament at the French Open in Paris in early June and is now the sole record champion ahead of Rafael Nadal has not reduced his motivation. “I love this sport and want to give something back to it for as long as I can.”

Djokovic is particularly looking forward to the duel with Alcaraz. “All eyes of the tennis and sports world will be on the Wimbledon final on Sunday,” said Djokovic. “It’s probably the most watched tennis match – I’m really looking forward to it.”

Alcaraz wants to make it as difficult as possible for Djokovic. “If you want to be the best, you have to defeat the best,” said the 20-year-old world number one. The anticipation of his first Wimbledon final is huge for the Spaniard. “For Novak it’s just one more time. For me it will be the best moment of my life.”
