Conmebol presented the logo of the next Copa América: what it means

The South American Football Confederation showed what will be the official image of the continental event that will be held in the United States during 2024. Argentina defends the title.

Conmebol presented the logo and the new image for the next edition of the Copa América that will be played in the United States from June 20 to July 14, 2024and will have Argentina, world champion in Qatar 2022, as defending champion.

The image of the Copa América 2024 is inspired by the symbols that represent the country of the North, with the use of blue, red and white colors; and the stars that characterize its flag, behind the illustration of the cup, which includes a special mention to the fans.

The brand new logo will accompany the image changes for the Copa América that will return to the United States, after the 2016 Centennial edition, where Chile was proclaimed champion on penalties against Argentina.

“We are very excited about the new beginning of the oldest national team tournament in the world, where the best players, coaches and fans will be. A new edition awaits us that will mark history and make the hearts of the entire continent vibrate”affirmed Alejandro Domínguez, president of Conmebol, on the official page of the entity that regulates South American football.

The 2024 Copa América United States will have the 10 Conmebol teams plus six Concacaf teams as guests. In this way, the traditional tournament will be co-organized by both confederations.

The six teams of the concacaf they will qualify through the 2023/2024 Concacaf Nations League. The group stage and quarterfinals of the third edition of the competition will be played during the FIFA dates of September, October and November 2023.

The 48th edition of the Copa América will have 16 participants for the second time in its history, the same number as in the 2016 edition, and Argentina will defend the title obtained in Brazil 2021.
