Erwin Softic comes from the LASK Amateuren OÖ and signs a two-year contract with the Blue and Whites with an option for another year. The 21-year-old central defender played a total of 51 times for the LASK Amateure Oberösterreich. Softic moved from Ennser SK to the LASK academy in 2015.
“I am very happy that we can now officially present Erwin. He’s a player with a lot of potential, has skills and above all a certain speed, which is very important for our style of play. But we also know that he was repeatedly thrown back by injuries last year and will therefore need a little more time. We’re giving him this time because we’re convinced that he’ll find his old strength again with us and give us a lot of joy,” says Christoph Schößwendter, sporting director of FC Blau-Weiss Linz.
Another defender coming?
With the Softic signing, the Blau-Weiss head of sport managed a transfer hat-trick this week: two young offensive players, Conor Noss (from Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Mehmet Ibrahimi (Leipzig), were signed on Tuesday.
Linz’s offensive transfer program has been completed, but Blau-Weiss could upgrade again in defense: A great defender who could play in the back three is still being sought. Since the people of Linz have only given five legionnaire places to date, this could also come from abroad.
