The Argentine tennis player Pedro Cachin advanced today to the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 gstaadin Switzerland, after a resounding victory over the Spanish Roberto Bautista Aguttop favorite for the title, 7-6 (4) and 7-6 (3).
Cachin, born in Bell Ville, Córdoba, and ranked 90th in the ATP world ranking, played seamless tennis and eliminated Bautista Agut (25) after two hours and 12 minutes of play.
The 28-year-old from Cordoba will play this Friday in the quarterfinals against the Spanish Jaume Munar (110), who defeated the Swiss Stan Wawrinka (74).
Previously, the other Argentine tennis player who participated in the contest, the man from Santa Fe, had been eliminated Facundo Bagnis (136), after losing his match in the round of 16 with Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (66) by a resounding 6-2, 6-1.

Bagnis, born in Armstrong, Santa Fe, was clearly outclassed by Varillas in one hour and 12 minutes of play.
The Gstaad ATP 250 is played on a clay surface and will distribute prizes of 630,705 euros.
Throughout its history, the tournament had four Argentine tennis players as champions: Guillermo Vilas in the 1974 and 1978 editions; José Luis Clerc in 1982; Martín Jaite in 1990 and Gastón Gaudio in 2005.
The Argentine tennis players won two titles in 2023: Sebastián Báez lifted the trophy at the Córdoba Open and Francisco Cerúndolo in Eastbourne, England.
