Club legend Torsten Mattuschka had promised former teammate Trimmel on the microphone in January that he would have his first tattoo done if the “iron” qualified for the premier class. “I didn’t think they could do it at the time,” said the 42-year-old.
“But if I do something like that, then I stand by it. You did it, so he should immortalize himself on me,” added Mattuschka, who felt a little uneasy beforehand.
“I’m not afraid. But respect. I’m still totally immaculate when it comes to that,” Mattuschka told the German Press Agency: “I just don’t know what it’s like. Trimmi said he had a cream that anesthetized . He should smear it on and then I hope it doesn’t hurt that much.”
Union professional Trimmel, who is also a tattoo artist (see Instagram post below), promised to send him motif suggestions from the Bundesliga club’s training camp, which begins on Monday. “Something with Champions League and Union,” said Mattuschka. His daughter can then say which part of the body it is made on. In any case, it should not be visible with normal clothing. “I think it will be the thigh, but I still have to see,” said Mattuschka.
