If Moussa Koné continues in this key, then LASK will have a lot of fun with him. The 26-year-old Senegalese, who can whirl both in the center of the attack and on the flanks, showed his eye for goal. After the former France legionnaire (Olympique Nimes/Ligue 2) scored twice in the dress rehearsal against Vienna (4:2) last Saturday, he contributed the next “double pack” today. The Black and White easily cleared the first hurdle in the ÖFB Cup, SC Röthis, and celebrated a 6-0 (1-0) victory. Now the focus is on the Bundesliga opening match next Friday (8:30 p.m.) against Rapid in the local Raiffeisen Arena.

There is no lack of confidence. “We’re growing together. Some of my lads did really well and showed their offensive quality,” said new head coach Thomas Sageder, who sent a tried-and-true starting eleven onto the field in Ländle. The only one of nine additions in the starting formation was the mentioned Koné. But even those who came from the bank knew how to convince. Ibrahim Mustapha (69th) and Thomas Goiginger (86th) scored “joker goals”.

LASK was dominant against the Regionalliga West club and had everything under control? especially after the exclusion of Röthis captain Felix Schoch (21./ goal robbery). Marin Ljubicic, who he laid, “revenged” 180 seconds later with the 0:1 header (24th). Then came Koné’s big performance (51′, 57′). One is still missing: Defense chief Philipp Ziereis dusted off to make it 5-0 (84th).
