Ruud (4th in the world), winner of the tournament in 2021, dominated the Austrian Sebastian Ofner (58th), whom he was facing for the first time, 6-4, 6-3.
The Norwegian will meet on Saturday for a place in the final with the Italian Lorenzo Musetti (16th), who had a little more trouble defeating another Austrian, Filip Misolic, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Musetti made his rival pay dearly for the loss of the first set: he only allowed Misolic, ranked 139th in the world, to win three of the last 12 games.

The other semifinal will face the Russian Rublev (7th in the world) with Francisco Cerúndolo from Buenos Aires.
Rublev beat German Alexander Zverev (19th) without too many complications (6-2, 6-3) in what on paper was the stellar duel of the quarterfinals.
Rublev had lost his first five meetings against Zverev, but he overcame him for the second time in a row in 2023.
The Russian will play the semifinal against Cerúndolo. The best Argentine in the ranking, 20th in the world, dominated Rosario Frederick Coria (113th) by a double 6-3, and continues in the race to revalidate the title won last year and which served to launch his record.
