The former soccer player and coach of Mouth juniors Guillermo Barros Schelotto today visited Lionel Messi before his debut with inter miami and he transmitted his experience in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States, in which he served as player and technical director.
“Soccer is lived in a different way in the United States, very different from how we live it in South America. Here the rival is respected, defeat is respected and also victory. The difference between winning and losing, in terms of public recognition, is practically nothing”Guillermo told the ESPN channel.
Barros Schelotto, current DT of the Paraguayan team, retired as a footballer in Columbus Crew (2007-2010) and then led the Los Angeles Galaxy (2019-2020) in his experience following the cycle in Boca, which ended after losing to River Plate in the 2018 Copa Libertadores final in Madrid.

“In the United States there is no aggression from the rival public. They sing for one side or the other but never against someone. I think Messi is going to be very good”he pointed.
Outside the DRV PNK stadium in Fort Lauderdale, where Inter Miami plays, Guillermo said he had “a soccer chat” with Messi before the game that marks his franchise debut.
“The impact that Messi’s arrival had was impressive, either because of the reaction of the people or because of how the city is painted with murals everywhere. What it has generated is incredible,” he was surprised.
“Now he has two years to show everything he is capable of and he will surely achieve important things in Miami,” he said.
