Peñarol de Mar del Plata secured two new major chips in the last few hours to participate in the next edition of the National Basketball League (LNB), which will begin in October.
They are point guard Julián Ruiz, 26 years old and 1.88 meters tall, and pivot Francisco Filippa, 27 and 2.02 meters.
Both players come from two teams in the Argentine League. Thus, Ruiz comes from Del Progreso de General Roca, after having debuted in Quimsa de Santiago del Estero. While Filippa wore the Villa San Martín shirt, from Resistencia, last season.
The ‘milrayitas’ team, which will be led by newcomer coach Mariano Rodríguez, had previously announced the incorporation of foreign inmate Charles Mogga Lado, 27, who played last season at Regatas Corrientes.
The under ’23 youth, Octavio Sarmiento, from Atenas de Córdoba, also arrived, while the forward Julián Morales, who enlisted in Platense during the previous season, will return to the entity from Mar del Plata where he made his debut on LNB
In addition, Peñarol renewed links with point guard Joaquín Valinotti and forward Tomás Monacchi, while it is very close to certifying the continuity of American inmate Al Thornton.
