The Argentine Leandro “Tati” Mercado, with a Kawasaki, today obtained second place in the classification of the German Superbike Championship (IDM) for motorcycling, in the competition that will take place this Sunday in the state of Thuringia.
The 31-year-old pilot from Córdoba completed the lap in 1m. 24s. 116/1000 on the circuit located in the town of Schleizer Dreiek.
The one born in Jesús María, who had an accident on the first date of the contest at Sachsenring and suffered a left metacarpal fracture, was 685 thousandths of a second behind the fastest, the Ukrainian Ilya Mikhalchik (BMW), according to the Champions site.
On the previous date held at the Czech circuit of Most, the Argentine Mercado obtained sixth and fourth place, respectively, in the two final competitions.
The first race on Sunday will be held at 5.50 in Argentina, while the second will start at 10.
