The alternating theater around Kylian Mbappe is getting crazier. After the French world champion informed the club that he would not renew his contract, which runs in the summer of 2024, Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to get rid of the striker – in order to collect a fee. The new coach Luis Enrique did not take Mbappe with him on the Japan tour, he is currently training with Georginio Wijnaldum, Julian Draxler, Leandro Paredes, Abdou Diallo and Colin Dagba in Paris, who have also been sorted out.

The situation is complicated: PSG assumes that Mbappe agrees with Real Madrid about a commitment from summer 2024. “He’s ready to accept whatever comes his way, he wants to stay at PSG even when he shouldn’t be playing”reported the usually well-connected journalist Daniel Riolo for RMC Sport. “He’s willing to accept anything, even sacrifice a season.”

If Al-Hilal has his way, the way out is via Saudi Arabia: transfer expert Fabrizio Romano first reported on a €300 million offer, according to French sports newspaper L’Equipe Paris Saint-Germain is ready to accept it.

The catch: Al-Hilal, who have already signed Sergei Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio and Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, would need to persuade Mbappe to make the move for the world-record offer to go through. Neymar, who switched from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for 222 million euros, has held this position so far. Mbappe himself switched from Monaco to PSG a year later for 180 million euros.

700 million euros annual salary

Al-Hilal’s argument is money – lots of money. English media reports a salary of 700 million euros for a one-season contract. After that, Mbappe could actually join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Does Mbappe want to play in Saudi Arabia in the pre-Euro 2024 season in Germany? According to L’Equipe, Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Tottenham are also interested in the goalscorer, and FC Barcelona has also gotten into poker. The Catalans would offer several players in exchange. But L’Equipe are also convinced that Real Madrid is the dream destination for Mbappe.
