FC Bayern flies towards Harry Kane. The “world-class striker” can make the team better. Coach Thomas Tuchel initially focuses on other tasks.
Shortly before FC Bayern’s start on the Asia trip, national soccer player Joshua Kimmich emphasized the great motivation for the new season.
“After the national team we were able to slow down a bit. We’re hungry for the new season. We’re rested and we’re going to give it our all,” promised the midfielder in front of 45,000 spectators in the Allianz Arena. Last season, the Munich team became champions in a thrilling finish. They were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup and the Champions League.
Müller and Neuer not there
The guys from Munich are touring through Tokyo and Singapore until August 3rd. “Everyone pulls along, the boys have a great work ethic. We want to play better and inspire our fans,” said coach Thomas Tuchel. “The preparation phase doesn’t mean that we only concentrate on the games. We will also train in Asia so that we are in good shape for the Supercup.” On August 12th we will face the cup winners RB Leipzig. The league season at Werder Bremen begins six days later.
In Tokyo there are two friendlies against Manchester City and Kawasaki Frontale. At the end of the tour there is a third game in Singapore against Liverpool FC. “We don’t want to talk so much about jet lag and temperatures. We can’t change that anyway,” said Tuchel. The ailing Thomas Müller and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who is doing “very well” on the way to his comeback, will not be there for the departure. Goalkeeper Alexander Nübel is said to be about to be loaned to VfB Stuttgart and, according to the media, is also missing.
Will Kane meet Bayern?
National player Leon Goretzka, who clearly sees his future in Munich, is looking forward to the trip. “I’m really looking forward to coming to Japan,” said the midfielder. “I’ve already done a lot of marketing trips. Japan wasn’t there yet.”
It is still unclear whether Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, who is currently in Asia with his team, will join Bayern. He remains the wish striker. “He’s a world-class striker,” said Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt. “Any world-class player can make a team better. I think Harry Kane can do the same.” But you don’t have to ask him about it.
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was not tempted by this question. “It’s still a hell of a long time,” he said, looking towards the transfer window. They signed three “fantastic players” and a “fantastic team”.
