First of all, they plan build around 80 boxes in the Sivori and Centenario grandstands to reach 180 total boxes. Also the construction of the lower lower stands on all sides (they will go instead of the current canvases), which will allow them to be approximately 12 meters from the playing field. With these new stands, the stadium’s capacity could reach 100,000.
With this work, the idea of the president is that these spaces become popular and that the entire upper ring of the stadium has no connection with the popular ones, but dedicated entirely to plate fans.
What’s more, all the seats in the stands will be renewed by anti-vandalism and better prepared to withstand inclement weather and a restaurant will be built in the Centenario Media tribune overlooking the playing field and also the River neighborhood.
On the other hand, planning is also included the construction of 750 parking garages, which will be added to the 500 already existing. They will be connected by a bridge between the parking lot and the stadium.
All this will be subject to the current leadership winning the elections to be held in December, no longer with D’Onofrio at the head, but with his successor, Jorge Brito.
