LASK can already concentrate fully on Zrinjski Mostar in preparation for the return to the European Cup: After the 6: 2 in the home game of the third qualifying round against Breidablik, the return match next Thursday in Iceland probably only has statistical value. If nothing out of the ordinary happens, Mostar will be at the Raiffeisen Arena when LASK return to the European Cup on August 24, with the second leg taking place a week later in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Zrinjski, the oldest existing club in Bosnia and last season’s champions by 20 points, made everything clear in Mostar in the first half: playmaker Tomislav Kis (2nd, 30th) and striker Matija Malekinusic (22nd, 40.) and captain Nemanja Bilbija (33.) scored for coach Krunoslav Rendulic’s team. After the change, Antonio Ivancic (55′) made it 6-0 before Anton Logi Ludviksson (64′) and Gisli Eyjolfsson (74′) scored two consolation goals. Iceland’s champions were outnumbered from the 31st minute after Viktor Karl Einarsson was eliminated.
