Australia beat France on penalties and is a semifinalist in the Women’s World Cup

The Australian national team, one of the hosts, advanced today to the semifinals of the Women’s World Cup by beating France 7-6 in definition with kicks from the penalty mark, after drawing 0-0 during the match, in the contest that it is played in Australia and New Zealand.

The match took place in the Australian city of Brisbane and the definition was extensive and exciting after 20 shots were executed, 10 for each team.
