“He’s in a different league.” Jürgen Kinz, head of HSV Ried, who once again successfully organized the Motocross State Championship races in Mehrnbach, summed it up. KTM rider Marcel Stauffer also dominated the events in the MXOpen and MX2 class at the GÜPL in Asenham in the Innviertel region, taking victories 20, 21, 22 and 23 of the season. And that with 24 runs completed so far in both categories. “The shape is just really good”says Stauffer. Johannes Klein from Steyr finished third in the premier class twice behind Stauffer and Michael Kratzer.
But the hosts from HSV, who were sold out down to the last drink due to the crowd of fans, also had reason to celebrate. Noah Jonas, son of former state champion Robert Jonas, achieved his very first podium in the youth class with third place. His club colleague, Moritz Ernecker, seventh at the Junior World Championships, fell in the first run and retired with minor injuries.
The MSC Wagenranch secured the title in the Austrian club championship on Saturday ahead of HSV Ried.
