Is Benjamin Pavard going or not going? The Bayern Munich defender is reportedly about to move to Inter Milan.
The departure of Benjamin Pavard (27) from Bayern Munich is said to be more and more obvious. As the “Gazzetta dello Sport” wrote, Inter Milan agrees with the French national soccer player.
The Italians are said to have increased their offer to a fixed fee of 28 million euros plus a bonus of 5 million euros for the defender, who is still tied to FC Bayern until the summer of 2024. If everything goes according to plan for Inter, Pavard could be expected in Milan for the medical examinations as early as mid-week.
The newspaper did not name a source. The Italians signed goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34) from Munich this summer.
“Pavard wants to leave, he has clearly stated that, otherwise he will be free next year,” said DFB record national player Lothar Matthäus (62) on Monday at a media conference with betting provider Interwetten. “I do believe that Pavard will no longer be a player at FC Bayern next year.”
Pavard was recently associated in particular with a farewell to Manchester United. The 2018 world champion switched from VfB Stuttgart to the Isar in 2019 for around 35 million euros. Pavard is mainly used as a right-back in Munich, but he prefers to see himself in central defence.
