Filip back in Steyr: transfer burst at the airport

Actually, Oliver Filip was never completely gone – now he’s finally back on the Volksstraße: After the second division relegation of the forward Steyr, the offensive player did not find a club for a long time, at least until winter, the 25-year-old is back on the ball with the Red and Whites Tomorrow’s home game in the regional soccer league against Junge Wikinger Ried, Filip will at least be in the squad.

Even though Filip has been training in Steyr again for three weeks, until recently he was hoping for a transfer abroad: a move to Scotland was about to be completed – and only failed at the airport due to the work permit. “Before he doesn’t play football for six months, he wants to be back on display with us. We’ll see what happens next in the winter,” says Steyr’s sports director Gerald Perzy. How was the transfer even possible, even though the transition period in the lower house has long expired? Perzy: “Because Oliver was last registered in Steyr and that hasn’t changed because he hasn’t found a new club.” But Filip was never completely gone anyway: “I was also in the stadium for the first regional league home game, I’m happy to be part of it again.”
