BVB does not look for excuses after the largely weak performance in the 1-1 draw in Bochum. Dortmund are angry about their own performance.
Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl criticized the runner-up’s duel behavior after the 1-1 draw at VfL Bochum.
“We didn’t play well in the first half. We were completely lacking in sharpness – also in tackles, in readiness. That wasn’t good,” said Kehl. “We knew what Bochum was doing. We knew how they were doing it. And yet we didn’t react well to it.”
The 43-year-old also said: “That’s not enough with the performance. You have to hold on to that. We wanted to take a step forward today after the Cologne game. But that wasn’t a big step.” BVB had happily won 1-0 against 1. FC Köln on matchday one thanks to a late goal by Donyell Malen.
