“Alexandra was a shining star both on and off the ice. Paul and her figure skating partner Mitchell Islam had a successful career in figure skating. They won several international medals, it is said. Accordingly, they won three medals at Canadian championships. In 2014 they took part in the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Two years later, Paul ended her figure skating career and went to law school. She finally became a lawyer in 2021. In the same year she married her partner Islam, who works as a skating coach. The two had a son last year.

After Paul’s death, a fundraiser for the family was launched. According to The Guardian, $190,000 had already been raised by Sunday afternoon.
